Why are you at where you are? Nobody is living in isolation; even if you are living alone, you are a part of a family or community. It is important for us to realize, that no matter where we find ourselves – in our workplace, at home, in a church, in a different environment, God has placed us there for a reason. We therefore need to find out why we are at where we are, and what we must be doing to fulfil that purpose.
The most interesting thing about us as human beings is that, we think we are where we are to exert authority or to make money. It’s true that we need money to provide the things necessary to make a living, but the purpose of life is not just thinking of what we need as individuals, but also of how to serve one another.
We make choices to work in a profession that we desire and it is the same with what we do outside work. For example we may decide to join a club, voluntary or charity organisation, leisure group, etc, to socialise or contribute towards a worthy cause. In order to become productive and make positive impact on others, we should take into account the natural gifts and talents that we have; things that we have interest in and passionate about; and the skills we have acquired and identify areas that we can use these resources to serve God and one another.
